Historical Notes Andrew Fisher grew up in Bay Shore, Long Island, and lived in Manhattan. Andrew swam daily at a pool on the Upper East Side and competed in U.S. Masters Swimming races. He worked as a director of sales at Imagine Software. On September 11, Andrew was attending a technology conference at Windows on the World on the North Tower’s 106th floor. He was 42 years old.
Curator's Comment As a child growing up on Long Island, Andrew Fisher used to swim in his backyard pool. He developed a passion for competitive swimming as an adult, participating in meets as a dedicated member of the Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (AGUA) Masters Swim Team. This ribbon is one of many he won at various competitions. After the 9/11 attacks, a scholarship was created in honor of Andrew and fellow AGUA Masters Swim Team member and 9/11 victim Douglas Irgnag. It offers financial support to youths who want to pursue competitive swimming at Asphalt Green. HIDE
