Description
Metal and wood cross given to the family of Durrell V. Pearsall, Jr. The cross is mounted on a burgundy velvet textured backing in a white box with plastic cover. Printed above the cross in gold-colored lettering is text: "September 11, 2001." In the bottom left corner is a small gold colored plaque with printed text: "In Prayerful Remembrance of | Durrell V. Pearsall | Cathedral of St. Patrick | November 8, 2001."

Historical Notes
Durrell Pearsall was raised and lived in Hempstead on Long Island. Much of his life revolved around FDNY Rescue Company 4. Captain of the FDNY football team, Durrell was also a drummer in the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums and had a tattoo of the band’s logo. On September 11, Firefighter Pearsall responded to the towers. He was 34 years old.

This cross is an example of the crosses that were given to the families who held funeral services at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
