Recovered postcard depicting an aerial view of lower Manhattan with the East River and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. The World Trade Center Twin Towers are prominent in the skyline. The caption on the back of the postcard reads: "A great period of bridge construction, begun in 1883 with the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge, helped create the five-borough city of New York." The card is wrinkled and dirty.
This postcard was available for sale at the Top of the World Trade Center South Tower Observation Deck. It was recovered at Ground Zero by Joe (Jose) Rodriguez, a court officer in Bronx Supreme Court, Criminal Division, who assisted with the recovery efforts immediately after 9/11.
