Historical Notes
Born in Queens, James Audiffred lived in Brooklyn with his wife, Robin, and their son. A student of lighthouse history and architecture, James took his family on vacation in July 2001 to see lighthouses in Maine. James worked for ABM Industries as a World Trade Center elevator operator, escorting visitors to Windows on the World. On September 11, James was at work in the North Tower. He was 38 years old.
