Curator's Comment A fan of science fiction and fantasy, Ian Gray loved dragons. He collected dragon figurines and displayed them in his Washington, D.C., home, sometimes greeting them with a hello. Ian had grown up in Scotland and immigrated to the United States in 1968 to work in health insurance and, later, health-care finance. After 9/11, the Baltimore Medical System, on whose board of directors he served, established the Ian J. Gray Fund in his memory. Its motto is "To Face the Dragon Is to Seize Life." HIDE
