Historical Notes
Tampa, Florida, native Maurice Barry lived with his wife, Marianna, and their two sons in Rutherford, New Jersey. A onetime Boy Scout leader, Maurice volunteered with Rutherford’s ambulance corps and worked as a PAPD officer assigned to the PATH commuter train system. On September 11, Officer Barry responded from the PATH Emergency Service Unit in Jersey City to the World Trade Center. He was 48 years old.
