A Teaneck, New Jersey, native who lived in Hoboken, Martin Niederer played basketball through high school and at the University of Vermont, from which he graduated in 1999. He became interested in a career on Wall Street when he took a college field trip there. On September 11, he was at work on the North Tower’s 104th floor at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was a securities trader. Martin was 23 years old.
