Historical Notes Brooklyn-born John Crisci lived with his wife, Raffaella, and their three sons in Holbrook, Long Island. He was known among coworkers, family, and neighbors for his backyard dinners and special homemade barbecue sauce. John worked as a firefighter in FDNY Hazmat Company 1. On September 11, Lieutenant Crisci had just finished a 24-hour shift when he responded to the World Trade Center. He was 48 years old.
