Description
Wanted poster for Abdul Rahman Yasin, issued by the U.S. Department of State, circa 1993. The poster is printed in English and includes a photograph of Yasin in the lower right corner, with physical descriptive information to its left. “$2,000,000 | REWARD” is printed in bold text at the top of the poster. Three paragraphs of text that follow outline the events of the February 26, 1993, attack, provide known information about Yasin, and request anyone with additional information about Yasin or his whereabouts to contact authorities.
Historical Notes
The U.S. government launched a worldwide manhunt for Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and other suspects potentially involved in the plot. Abdul Rahman Yasin was believed to have assisted Yousef in the logistics of the attack. Initially cooperative with police, Yasin was not immediately arrested and was later able to leave the country.
The U.S. Department of State created various posters offering a reward for information leading to Yasin's arrest. They distributed the posters worldwide. As of
2018, Yasin is still at large.
