Description Hand–painted ornament belonging to John T. Vigiano II. The ornament is a plastic paint craft depicting Mickey Mouse playing a drum.
Historical Notes Queens native John Vigiano lived in West Islip, Long Island, with his wife, Maria, and their two daughters. A member of FDNY Ladder Company 132, he was cocaptain of his firehouse’s hockey team. On September 11, Firefighter Vigiano responded to the towers and was seen in the Marriott hotel lobby. His brother, Joseph Vigiano, an NYPD detective, was in the North Tower. Both perished. John was 36 years old.
Curator's Comment This ornament was given to John by his daughter, Nicolette. She painted it for him when she was four years old. HIDE
