Description Christmas tree necktie belonging to Constantine Economos. The tie is bright green with a Christmas tree shape and a yellow star at the top of the tree.
Historical Notes Constantine Economos grew up in Brooklyn and lived in the Fort Hamilton neighborhood. He and his wife, Audrey, had two children. Constantine served on his church’s parish council and coached football at Xavier High School in Manhattan, where his son was a freshman. Constantine, a partner at Sandler O’Neill & Partners, was at his office on September 11 on the South Tower’s 104th floor. He was 41 years old.
Curator's Comment Constantine Economos cherished opportunities to be with family, especially at Christmas. He enjoyed attending church with his wife, Audrey, and his two children, Constantine and Katherine, on Christmas morning. Afterward, they would host extended family at their Brooklyn home. Knowing Constantine’s love for the holiday and his sense of humor, Audrey and the children gave him this Christmas tree necktie. They were surprised when Constantine, an executive, wore the tie to work. Whenever Constantine “walked in the room,” recalled a colleague, “everything got funnier and better.” HIDE
