Historical Notes
Born in the Dominican Republic, Jose Nunez lived in the Bronx with his wife, Miriam, and their three daughters. He enjoyed visiting his sister and her children who lived nearby, as well as dining on Dominican sancocho, a traditional stew. Jose was employed as a food runner at the Windows on the World restaurant. On September 11, he was at work on the North Tower’s 106th floor. Jose was 42 years old.
