Honorary Emmy award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded posthumously to Thomas Nicholas Pecorelli. The Emmy is a gold statuette featuring a winged woman holding an atom. Raised text on the base of the statuette reads: "The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences." Engraved around the base is text: "The New York Chapter of | The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences | Governors Award Presented to | Tom Pecorelli | April 21, 2002."

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Thomas Pecorelli lived in Topanga Canyon, California, with his wife, Kia. The couple was expecting their first child, whose image from an ultrasound exam Thomas carried in his wallet. He worked as a cameraman for Fox Sports and E! Entertainment Television. On September 11, Thomas boarded Flight 11 to return home from a friend’s wedding in Boston. He was 30 years old.

Thomas Pecorelli began his career as a camera operator at age 12 with an apprenticeship at a television station in his hometown of Newburyport, Massachusetts. After earning a degree in communications and working at local stations in Florida and Arizona, Thomas moved to California. He was behind the camera for studio shows on Fox Sports and for news programs on E! Entertainment Television. He also covered the red carpet arrival of celebrities at the annual Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. In honor of his work in television, Thomas was posthumously honored with a regional New York Emmy Award.
