Recovered paper union card belonging to Julio Fernandez. The card is for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 9. The card is dated 8-9-01 and signed by Fernandez. The back of the card lists "Instructions for Picketing." The card has worn edges and is partially faded.

Born in Peru, Julio Fernandez lived in Queens with his wife, Enriqueta, and their two sons. Julio enjoyed playing football and cooking meals from his native country for friends and family. A union painter with OneSource Hudson Shatz, Julio was at work in the South Tower on September 11. He evacuated but was caught in the collapse of the towers. Julio was 51 years old.
