DescriptionQuilt panel composed of four individual handmade quilts from the project An American Quilt.
The first quilt was created in memory of
Michael Robert Horrocks and has a patriotic theme, with photo transfers and written remembrances.
The second quilt was created in memory of
William Arthur Gardner. It is blue and has appliquéd Twin Towers with doves and angels. In the lower right corner is a photo of Gardner with text: "In Loving Memory of William A. Gardner 11/6/55 – 9/11/01."
The third quilt, top right, was created in memory of Corporal Matthew A. Commons from the 1/75th Ranger Regiment, who was killed in action on March 4, 2002. The quilt has a patriotic-themed border fabric and two photo transfers.
The last quilt was created in memory of
John Foster Puckett and contains two poems written by his son, Michael Puckett, in 1998. In the lower right corner are multiple small photo transfers labeled "Our Thank You Pocket."
