DescriptionQuilt panel composed of four individual handmade quilts from the project An American Quilt.
The first quilt on the left was created in memory of
Jayesh Shantilal Shah and is primarily green with a Green Bay Packers–themed border fabric and a center fabric resembling a football field. The field area is covered in photo transfers and written remembrances and appliquéd with images of sports balls and an American flag.
The second quilt was created in memory of the "Children Lost" and is a light yellow fabric appliquéd with animals and popular characters like Pokémon, Big Bird, and the Easter Bunny. Small children's socks are sewn onto the panel, and doves and angels are spread throughout.
The third quilt, on the top right, was created in memory of
Sandra Lee Wright and has a baby blanket, a handkerchief, and place mat attached. Color photographs are glued to the fabric with a portrait image in the center with butterflies framed around it. At the top is written "2nd of 9, mother of 1, Special to all."
The fourth quilt was created in memory of
John Michael Rodak and is maroon in color. Photo transfers are appliquéd on the quilt, and written remembrances from his children are in the center. His name is at the top.
