Historical Notes
Bronx-born Paul Simon met his wife of 31 years, Shelley, when they were teenagers. The couple lived on Staten Island and spent summer weekends at a New Jersey beach home, where Paul was the house expert at digging up and cooking clams. Paul ran a computer consulting firm, DAU Systems. On September 11, he was on the North Tower’s 97th floor at the offices of client Marsh & McLennan. He was 54 years old.
