Description
Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary medal awarded to Lawrence Provost. The medal depicts the coat of arms of the United States, which includes an eagle encircled by a wreath. The reverse is inscribed: "WAR ON TERRORISM EXPEDITIONARY" with an eagle and two swords depicted in the center. The medal is attached to a multicolored ribbon with a bar pin for affixing to a uniform.
Historical Notes
A member of the U.S. Army Reserve, Lawrence Provost responded to Ground Zero on 9/11. A year later he joined his unit on a six-month mission to Afghanistan. Like all who were deployed for combat in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2001 to 2005, Provost was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.
