Historical Notes
Dating from the 1970s, this hard hat was worn by Benjamin Pickover when he visited the top of the World Trade Center’s South Tower while it was still under construction. PONYA is an early acronym for Port of New York Authority (now Port Authority of New York and New Jersey).
