A Harley-Davidson rider and a hunter, Charles was president of the Bambi Rod and Gun Club and brought trophy bucks home from his deer-hunting trips. He worked at Windows on the World as a purchasing director. On September 11, he was at his office on the 106th floor of the North Tower. He was 38 years old.

Though Charles was a native New Yorker, his loyalties shifted south during the American professional football season, when he rooted for the Miami Dolphins. This necktie, featuring the team’s logo and namesake mascot, was part of his collection of fan memorabilia.
