Description Necktie belonging to Charles J. Mauro. The necktie is turquoise and has a printed pattern of the Miami Dolphins logo.
Historical Notes Born in Brooklyn, Charles Mauro lived in New Dorp on Staten Island with his wife, Barbara. A Harley-Davidson rider and a hunter, Charles was president of the Bambi Rod and Gun Club and brought trophy bucks home from his deer-hunting trips. He worked at Windows on the World as a purchasing director. On September 11, he was at his office on the 106th floor of the North Tower. He was 38 years old.
Curator's Comment Charles Mauro enjoyed spending his free time outdoors, hunting deer and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Though Charles was a native New Yorker, his loyalties shifted south during the American professional football season, when he rooted for the Miami Dolphins. This necktie, featuring the team’s logo and namesake mascot, was part of his collection of fan memorabilia. HIDE
