Small handheld notebook with spiral binding and flip top. The notebook contains handwritten notes taken by Port Authority Police Department Captain Joseph Martella during the investigation into the February 26, 1993, bombing. There are 16 pages of handwritten notes in the notebook.
Historical Notes
On February 26, 1993, Port Authority Police Department Captain Joseph Martella was the Commanding Officer at the World Trade Center. He was in his office on the B-1 Level of the Word Trade Center, waiting with other officers for a lunch guest, when the bomb exploded. Immediately, and over the course of the following months, Captain Martella participated in the rescue, evacuation, and re-opening of the World Trade Center. While supervising recovery operations, Martella entered notes in this notebook.
