Roughly 20,000 people gathered at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on September 23, 2001, for an interfaith prayer service called A Prayer for America
. The service was televised nationally and broadcast on screens at other stadiums in New York City. Many attendees were awaiting news about their missing loved ones and shared posters and photographs with the media at Yankee Stadium.
